This project on gambling is an extensive documentation and social research project of the Study, Research and Documentation Centre of Gruppo Abele Association in Turin, made possible by funding from the former Ministry of Social Solidarity (December 2007).

In its initial phase – until 2008 - the project was carried out in collaboration with ALEA (Associazione per lo studio del gioco d’azzardo e dei comportamenti a rischio = Association for the study of gambling and risk behaviours). Since 2009 the work has been continued entirely by the Centre.

Project outcomes

- Creation of a website on gambling information and services
- Data collection on services, associations and organizations dealing with gambling
- Organization of a meeting of experts, “Guidelines for gambling research”
- Ongoing update of the library catalogue with gambling-related materials.
